Blazing June and Bali

Since my post in February we have hardly had any rain and it’s been really hot. In fact it was warmer here in the UK than in Bali. We spent 3 blissful weeks in the North of Bali, which is thankfully still untouched by tourism. I make no apology for posting my photos of our journey around Bali as the creativity of the Balinese people is so inspiring.
The South of Bali is a no go zone if you really want to experience the natural beauty of Bali. Head North of Ubud and explore the hilly regions. It’s a little cooler and less humid in Munduk. Try the Munduk Moding Coffee plantation resort for spectacular views over to Java.
Long-tailed macaques are common in this area. This little fellow obligingly posed for me but they are generally troublesome and should be treated with respect as they are wild creatures after all.

I probably took too many photographs of plants but I love the form of the leaves and flowers as they inspire me in so many ways. I am particularly fond of lotus lillies. The flowers, seed pods and leaves have such grace and beauty. They are everywhere in Bali. The simple design of these beautiful flowers lend themselves to lino print, which is what I will be doing over the summer.
